I could go on all day about the benefits of Mammoth Ivory and the improvements it can make in your playing, but I'm the guy trying to sell the things! Don't take my word for it, read what other guitar players are saying:

So... I've been playing these insanely beautiful picks for over a week now...
You can't even begin to explain how comfortable these picks are! They are as hard as bone but somehow weirdly enough feel soft in your hand!
They have a texture like I've never felt before very smooth but they also stick to your hand and unlike other picks that sticks to your hand it never feels gluey ... it seems to dry of any sweat from your fingers keeping them dry those helping you get a better grip... but when it does that it also in some magical way sticks to your finger like a mini vacuum would... as soon as you tuch the material you understand that this is a very very VERY special pick...
Now tone wise....Keep Reading
I just love your picks and I’m a customer for life! The tone is noticeably better than plastic, even on my electric guitars. I also really like the way they stay in place when playing. I’ve always had a tough time hanging on to plastic picks. With your picks my playing has improved noticeably (especially on leads) because there is less tension in my picking hand. And they just fly off the strings.

As usual, walking into Truetone Music in Santa Monica, CA. their front counter display cases are always loaded with the greatest gear and on the counter top is a display case loaded with Tusk Buffer Mammoth Ivory Custom Picks. With great excitement I selected the 1.5m classic shaped pick. Upon my arrival home, I compared Tusk Buffer to my Red Bears collection, V-Picks, Golden Gate horn, Golden Gate synthetic shell, Clayton Golds, Dunlop Ultex and Jazz picks and the Tusk Buffer pick smoked the entire collection in articulation, attack and overall clarity. I can't wait to purchase more and LOVE the picks! I have a new favorite... Worth every cent and more. Thank you...

"This pick is friggin' awesome. I dig it. I dig it profusely."

"This pick glides over the strings faster than anything I've ever played on, and due to that, the less-jarring attack has provided for a swift rebound to the next note and has gotten me a slightly faster picking technique. Like I said, the tone is a pianistic, clear (I can't emphasize clear enough) tone that cuts through very well, especially on the middle and high parts of the guitar's range."

"I also got one of the mammoth ivory picks, one of the Jazz III shapes in, I believe, the 1.3mm thickness, and took it to a jam yesterday. It is really good. The pointy end delivers a very bright and defined attack, and the duller points on the side give a darker, more jazzy sound. It stands up beautifully to what is called "tremolo picking" on mandolin(I wasn't playing one, just doing that kind of fast repetitive type of picking) without dulling the point very much, and it takes standard lead picking with no problem. It doesn't seem to stick against the strings, sliding off of them with what seems like very little friction. That may be due to the narrow shape of the point more than slippery qualities of the material.
I am more than pleased with the pick, and I intend to order a couple more in different shapes when the money comes in. Good job, Tusk Buffer!"

"The tone is just marvelous. It really accentuates the bass, and lends a sort of glossed-over smoothness to chords. This is especially noticeable with the .8~ mm "Dunlop standard" style pick - which, as it turns out, I bought on a limb as it's not the sort of pick I would usually use. That one is probably my favourite of the three.
The gripping capabilities, as described by Tuskbuffer, is 100% truth. Once my fingers warmed up, I noticed that I could lift a pick up by only having my thumb on TOP of it (nothing below). Like a little suction cup, that!
The guitar I'm playing right now has very heavy flatwound strings, but these picks are so slick that they just slide past them like they were .009s. I don't shred, but a Tuskbuffer jazz III shaped pick is definitely faster than a real Jazz III.
Harmonics stand out a ridiculous amount, can easily hear natural harmonics places like 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th frets - and this is on a single-coil -equipped plywood/masonite Danelectro with flatwounds (as mentioned above), using the neck pickup. Unheard of.
I am damned serious about my tone, always ready to totally abandon a certain object, approach, ideal, etc. if it isn't working 100%.
I approve of these picks."

"Ever since you handed me my first one, I have a hard time using anything else! What's interesting is when I first felt it, I wasn't sure I would like it because there's no texture, however, it actually helps create more of a feel from the pick. I can make subtle adjustments holding the pick because I can feel everything that I'm doing! Its tough to explain but if you tried one, you'll understand what I'm feeling.
The quality is second to none, its consistent from pick to pick and they just don't wear out! I'm using it for bass and I play heavy strings and I don't see any signs of this thing wearing out. I love it.
Thanks again. You have a customer for life!!"

"I received a tuskbuffer pick a couple of weeks ago and have been very pleased. I have a Godin LGX, a Gretsch Chet Atkins Nashville, a G&L ASAT Delux semi-hollow, and a Yamaha LLX400 among my guitars. The reason I mention this is I have an obvious investment in my equipment. I would not think twice about spending ($25) to better the sound of one guitar. Yet, I was balking at putting that much into a pick. I have to say that it has been a good investment as I have seen a marked improvement in my acoustic guitar sound and the playability of my electrics."

"Received yesterday, thanks for the quick shipping. This pick is amazing! The look, the feel most importantly the SOUND. It's an awesome feeling to realize that the pick helping me make music is from an animal that lived before the sphinx existed, beyond cool."
